The tradition of takjil is strongly related to Ramadhan month. Takjil means to push forward (end fast). This fits the meaning of the origin of the word, adopted from Arabic, which is ajila or to hasten. So the meaning of the word Ta'jil/Takjil is to make haste to break the fast.

When talking about takjil, one can never forget to mention also about Ramadhan Bazaar. The bazaar is held during Ramadhan month and serve all kinds of Takjil such as drinks, Ramadhan treats, dates, and many other.

Just like in every other place, Ramadhan Bazaar is also held every year in Berau. The bazaar is located in Baitul Hikmah Great Mosque's yard. In contrast to the last two years, this year, specifically Ramadhan 1443 H / 2022 M, gives off different enthusiasm and cheers.
Their fewer restrictions enforced doing religious activities and celebrating this holy month of Ramadhan.
With the statistics showing a decline in the number of COVID-19 cases, the Berau district government gave the community permission to hold and enliven up the bazaar.
Nevertheless, the people are remained urged to avoid the crowd, to always keep their masks on, and to often wash their hands.

Aside from it being one of the many Ramadhan traditions, the bazaar also has an impact on the local economy.
Through it, the economic welfare is hoped to improve particularly in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) that were severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
